It is still autumn.
Continuing from last week, as the constable burst into the tavern, Gus the Ranger was quick to volunteer their skills to help the situation in exchange for money, and the discussion of coin enticed Kronk & Lyra to come along on the mission.
The trio, led by Gus, was able to track down the Elf hiding half a mile outside of town along a deep ravine. After some scuffles between them, each other, and a few twig blights in the forest, they agreed to return Hobbled Doph to the jail in exchange for the reward money, and then to break him out of the jail afterwards.
Upon arriving back in town, the Constable, who was still trying not to admit he didn’t know who they were, paid the party 320 gold, which was divided between the three equally. Doph was thrown back in his jail cell.
That night, Gus & Hobbled Doph shared a dream in which they were both combatants in an arena match in front of a large crowd of spectators. Two masked assassins and a large brute attacked the duo, killing them both rather unceremoniously before they awoke in the middle of the night at the exact same time, one in a jail cell & one in a room in the inn with the Paladin & Druid.

Big adventures! I experienced my first battle with Hobbledoff, against 3 nefarious creatures in an arena match! While I didn’t survive, I learned how to move and fight a bit more. Lyra and Kronk me in bringing Hobbledoff back to custody, with his cooperation, and split the gold with the understanding that we would later help him break out again! Made a tidy profit for more sandwiches and a bed. Although sleeping in a tree works for me.
